KVIA-TV Features UMC’s Power of Pink Event Honoring Breast Cancer Survivors

University Medical Center of El Paso’s Power of Pink event was recently featured on KVIA-TV, highlighting a celebration honoring local women who have experienced breast cancer.

Held Sept. 25 at UMC, the annual event brings together breast cancer survivors from participating hospitals for an afternoon centered on their stories and experiences. The celebration takes place ahead of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.

Putting Survivors in the Spotlight

As part of Power of Pink, participating survivors receive makeovers and professional portraits. Their photos and personal words of encouragement are then displayed at UMC, giving the community an opportunity to recognize the women behind the stories.

This year’s photo display was unveiled in UMC’s main lobby during the Sept. 25 event.

The event offers a simple but meaningful way to recognize breast cancer survivors and share their stories with others in the El Paso community.
