UMC Staff

University Medical Center of El Paso (UMC) is proud to announce an important advancement in its commitment to senior care. The UMC Emergency Department recently earned an upgrade from a Level 3 Geriatric Emergency Department Accreditation (GEDA) to a Level 2 Silver Standard GEDA, awarded by the American College of Emergency Physicians.

This elevated accreditation recognizes UMC’s enhanced efforts to provide a higher standard of care tailored specifically for older adults. It reflects the hospital’s dedication to meeting the unique needs of seniors who seek emergency care, ensuring specialized protocols, staff training, and resources are in place to improve outcomes for this vulnerable population.
