We’re proud to share that University Medical Center of El Paso, in collaboration with Nexus Neuroscience, has been recognized by Healthgrades as one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Spine Surgery in 2025.
Healthgrades evaluated data from over 4,500 hospitals nationwide, identifying those with the best patient outcomes. Based on 2022 Report to the Nation, Healthgrades showed that patients treated from 2018 to 2020 at hospitals receiving the America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Spine Surgery Award had a 39.7% lower risk of complications during their stay compared to other facilities.
“This recognition helps provide peace of mind when selecting a place for care,” said Brad Bowman, MD, chief medical officer and head of data and science at Healthgrades.
At UMC, we’re committed to providing world-class, patient-centered care close to home. This achievement reflects the dedication of our spine care team and our ongoing mission to improve lives in El Paso.
“Our team combines evidence-based protocols, minimally invasive techniques, and years of experience to help our patients get back to living the life they want. That is something we are very proud of,” said Jacob Cintron, President & CEO of the El Paso County Hospital District.
We’d like to thank our community leaders, including El Paso County Judge Ricardo Samaniego, for joining us at this important announcement, as well as our partners at Nexus Neuroscience, led by Dr. J.D. Day, UMC’s Medical Director of Neurosurgery.
