1. UMC Foundation Celebrates 10 Years of Car Seat Safety Program
In September, the UMC Foundation marked a major milestone—10 years of the Car Seat Safety Program. The event also highlighted its 8-year partnership with El Paso Health, which donated $60,000 to support the initiative.
This funding will help purchase both standard and specialized car seats for children with special needs, while continuing to offer installation instruction and child passenger safety education for families across the Borderland. The program underscores UMC’s ongoing commitment to family and child safety in the region.
2. UMC’s ICU Establishes First AACN Chapter in El Paso
UMC’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) has launched the first local chapter of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) in El Paso—a first for the region.
