Volunteer Opportunities
UMC offers a wide variety of roles across our hospital and outpatient clinics, including:
- Patient Escort, Information Desk, Lobby Concierge
- Clerical/Administrative Support
- Gift Shop and Magazine Cart Assistance
- Occupational & Physical Therapy Assistance
- Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care Programs
- Special events, hospital projects, and patient visits

How to Get Started
Adult Volunteers
- Age 18+
- Updated resume
- Two reference forms (non-family)
- Commitment: 100 hours over 3 months
- Complete application, interview, orientation, and pre-screening (TB test, lab work, background check, vaccination verification)
Pastoral Volunteers
- Age 18+
- Two reference forms (non-family)
- Letter of recommendation from parish/congregation leader
- Catholic ministers require letters from the Diocese and a priest
- Proof of ordination or hospital ministry certificate
- Commitment: 100 hours over 3 months
Junior Volunteers (Ages 14–17)
- Commitment: Minimum 60 hours; summer volunteers serve full summer, year-round volunteers serve monthly and during breaks
- Letter of good academic standing from high school guidance counselor (minimum GPA 3.0)
- Two reference forms (non-family)
- Parental consent form
