University Medical Center of El Paso (UMC) proudly recognizes our 2025 Third Quarter DAISY Award Honorees. We are delighted to celebrate our newest DAISY Award recipients:
- Hugo Corral, RN III – CVICU
- Jackelyn Castanon, RN II – ASC West
- Rachele Vazquez Morales, RN (NRP) – Surgical/Telemetry
The DAISY Award is a meaningful, international tribute reserved for nurses who consistently deliver extraordinary, compassionate care. Each of these honorees was nominated by patients who experienced their kindness firsthand during their stay at our hospital.
The recognition is part of a program created by the DAISY Foundation in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, who passed away at age 33 from an autoimmune condition. His family established the foundation to express their gratitude to nurses for the remarkable skill and humanity they show every day.
Hugo, Jackelyn, and Rachele embody the spirit of this award through their empathy, professionalism, and unwavering dedication to those they serve.
We are truly honored to have these outstanding nurses as part of our UMC family.
Thank you for the extraordinary work you do.
