When you’re under the weather with the flu, nursing a sprain, or need stitches for a cut, a trip to the emergency room (ER) can feel overwhelming, and often expensive. For residents on the eastern side of El Paso, UMC Urgent Care – Eastlake now offers a more accessible, cost-effective option that preserves hospital ER resources for true emergencies.
What Is UMC Urgent Care – Eastlake?
UMC Urgent Care – Eastlake is the first urgent care clinic opened by University Medical Center (UMC) El Paso in Eastlake, located at 12261-C Eastlake Blvd, El Paso, TX 79928. It officially opened on May 27, 2025, expanding UMC’s footprint and bringing more immediate care closer to neighborhoods like Horizon City, Ysleta, and Fabens.
The facility is open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., with walk-in access, no appointment is needed.
One of the key drivers for opening the Eastlake clinic was to provide an alternative to UMC’s East Emergency Department on Joe Battle Boulevard, thereby easing the patient load at the hospital.
Get to Know the Services Offered
UMC Urgent Care – Eastlake is equipped to handle a wide range of non-emergency medical needs, including:
- Flu and COVID-19 testing
- Vaccinations
- Sports physicals
- Treatment of sprains, fractures, minor cuts, and other injuries
- On-site X-ray services, so some patients can avoid going to the ER just for imaging
These services mean the clinic can address many of the same issues that drive people to the ER, but without tying up critical emergency resources.
