Meet Lilian Martinez: Turning Healing into Hope

UMC Staff

At University Medical Center of El Paso’s Emergency Department, compassion and strength meet every day, and few embody that spirit more than Registered Nurse Lilian Martinez.

With six years of dedicated service at UMC, Martinez’s passion for trauma care comes from a deeply personal place. As a child, she was a trauma patient herself, an experience that changed her life forever.

“It took a long time of healing, and I wanted to give back to the community,” Martinez shared.

That desire to give back became the driving force behind her nursing career. Today, she provides the same kind of care and comfort that once helped her heal, guiding patients and families through some of their most difficult moments with empathy and strength.

Thank you, Lilian, for turning your own journey of recovery into a source of inspiration and compassion. Your dedication makes a lasting impact on every patient who walks through UMC’s doors.
