UMC Hosts 4th Annual Nursing Leadership Summit: “Courage to Lead”

UMC Staff

University Medical Center of El Paso proudly hosted its 4th Annual Nursing Leadership Summit, bringing together nurses, leaders, and professionals for a day of insight, inspiration, and connection.

This year’s theme, “Courage to Lead,” set the tone for a powerful event focused on the strength, resilience, and vision required in nursing leadership today.

UMC nurses were honored to welcome two distinguished guest speakers:

  • Jacqueline (“Jackie”) Medland, PhD, RN, NEA-BC, co-author of “The Leadership Sandwich: Bite-Sized Lessons for Busy Leaders,” a practical guide designed for busy leaders, particularly in the healthcare field.
  • Congresswoman Veronica Escobar, who offered a compelling perspective on leading with courage, purpose, and integrity.

We extend our thanks to everyone who attended and contributed to the success of this year’s summit. Your ongoing commitment to leadership and professional growth continues to elevate the nursing profession at UMC.

Special thanks to the Nursing Education Department for organizing this event.
